Already embarking upon her next acting endeavor, Jennifer Lopez has accepted NBC’s offer to star in an upcoming series named “Blue.”

NBC placed a 13-episode order for the new police drama, which is slated to premiere in 2015, and the 44-year-old brunette beauty will act as both the show’s headlining star and executive producer.

According to Variety, “‘Blue’ centers on Harlee McCord — played by Lopez — a single mother and detective recruited to work undercover for the FBI’s anti-corruption task force. Harlee has become compromised by her colleagues – all of whom also pitch in to help her raise her daughter – and finds herself faced with the moral dilemma of working against her cop brothers in order to redeem herself.”

NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke released a statement about the “Papi” singer, saying, “Whether it’s producing, acting, singing or any of her other many entrepreneurial activities, Jennifer is an extraordinary talent and life force, and we’re delighted to be in business with her and Adi Hasak on this sophisticated show.”

Continuing, Salke said, “We’re especially excited that Jennifer is returning to her acting roots from such great movies as ‘Out of Sight,’ and we know that she will create this complicated character in a vivid way that will breathe new life into the cop show genre. Ryan Seacrest is part of the NBCU family and doing his first scripted drama series with us makes perfect sense.”

J.Lo is back on the block! In the last two years, Jennifer Lopez has been abducted by the EDM beats, leaving her “urban” self in the past. Scoring major global hit like “On The Floor” made Jennifer think EDM was going to be her style of choice for the many years to come. Later “Dance Again” and “Live It Up” followed, all RedOne-produced and Pitbull-assisted EDM singles. Although “Dance Again” wasn’t a flop, it did not match the success of “On The Floor” (disenchantment with J.Lo’s new music style began to be noticeable), and “Live It Up” did tank on the charts.

Now in late 2013, Jennifer Lopez surprises everyone again (and it’s good news). She’s ditching the EDM sound and going back to her “urban” roots. Jenny from the Block is back. She hit the studio earlier this year with Chris Brown and Cory Rooney, and only yesterday (December 28th) it was revealed the song they recorded (and wrote together) is called “Same Girl” and that she has shot a music video for it. On Saturday afternoon, J.Lo and crew hit up chilly The Bronx to film the visual for “Same Girl” with directors Steven Gomillion & Dennis Leupold. Take a look at photos and footage from the set, and you’ll get “Jenny from the Block” vibes straight away.

In it, the Jenny from the Block singer can be seen flaunting her amazing legs and bum in a pair of super SUPER tight skinny jeans and a towering pair of stiletto boots. The brunette beauty is wrapped up in a leather jacket, and can be seen beaming from underneath her NY cap. The bootylicious singer seems to be stood on a quiet train station platform where she’s sheltering from the rain.

A man is claiming singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are grinches that stole his idea for their “Q’ Viva!” and he is suing the duo for $25 million.

TMZ reported that John Jacobs filed a lawsuit in New York claiming he contacted Marc Anthony Production and Lopez’s Nuyorican Production about his idea for “Miami Beach: The Game” in 2007 and 2008.

According to the gossip site, Jacobs said his idea was to combine two well-known Latino celebrities to travel in search of the next superstar. He said both companies were interested in pursuing the project, but ultimately ignored his phone calls.

Then, a couple years later, Jacobs said he started seeing ads for “Q’Viva!” around 2012 starring Anthony and Lopez and was surprised by the similarities to his own show concept.

In the lawsuit, Jacobs claimed, “they were so similar that they were twins,” TMZ reported.

“Q’Viva The Chosen” starring Lopez, Anthony and superstar director/choreographer Jaime King, premiered on Univision in January 2012 and on FOX in March of that year.

The premise of the show was the three superstars traveled to 21 different Latin American countries looking for the most authentic and talented performers to headline a live show in Las Vegas.

The show was cancelled after six episodes.

According to the report, Jacobs followed up with the two production companies and Univision, which aired the show, but said he never heard back.

TMZ said it reached out to Anthony’s company, who would not comment on the lawsuit. No word from Lopez’s camp.

Respected and loved worldwide for his contribution to South Africa and mankind, Nelson Mandela’s death caused plenty of famous faces to express their condolences on Twitter.

On Thursday (December 5), South African President Jacob Zuma announced, “He is now resting. He is now at peace. Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost a father.”

While some chose to honor him with his own inspiring quotes, others praised him simply and in their own words.

Jennifer Lopez: “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” Rest in Peace Nelson Mandela. You will be missed. #trueinspiration #peoplewhochangetheworld

Over the weekend, Jennifer‘s commercials for Kohl’s aired during the 2013 American Music Awards. There were four that aired throughout the show.

“I had so much fun making these commercials!!! Big thanks to all of you and Kohl’s, your Twitter votes helped me get to the American Music Awards!!” Jennifer wrote on her Facebook account.

I added some amazing pics of Jennifer behind the scenes of shooting the commercials. You should check them out for sure. I placed them in the photoshoots section, since some outtakes are stunning and look like a professional photoshoot.
