Share on FacebookShe loves to straddle the fence between music and movies, and Jennifer Lopez will once again appear on the silver screen in the forthcoming “The 33.”
Based on the true story of the 33 Chilean miners who spent 69 days trapped in a collapsed shaft, the movie will also star Antonio Banderas, Martin Sheen, and Rodrigo Santoro.
On the production end of things, Mikko Alanne and Jose Rivera will handle the writing duties, and Patricia Riggen has signed on to direct.
“The 33” will be the first big screen project for J. Lo since she starred alongside Jason Statham in “Parker” back in January.
Jennifer Lopez’s Lesbian Aunt: ‘The Fosters’ TV Show Inspired
by Aniek on Apr 29th, 2013 • Categories: News & Updates, The Fosters • Comments: 0
During a recent interview with Rob Marciano of Entertainment Tonight, Jennifer Lopez revealed that her upcoming ABC Family television show highlighting lesbian moms, “The Fosters,” which she executive produces, is an homage to her late lesbian aunt.
The Bronx born actress, singer and producer explained to Marciano that the series is about complex contemporary families. “Although [the script] was about a non-traditional family and had some newer themes, it had some really basic themes as well about family and love and what’s really important in life,” said Lopez. “And life can be complicated and messy sometimes and not simple. It was really a true depiction of family in this day and age.”
Lopez attempted to hold back tears when she began speaking about her aunt who recently passed from cancer. The “If You Had My Love” singer said she thought of the plight her aunt faced while deciding to take on the executive producer role.
“I had an aunt who was gay. I lived with her and I loved her. She just passed away from cancer. I thought of her often when I was thinking about taking on this project and the prejudices that she faced.”
Lopez, who has played a lesbian character in the past, has frequently spoken out about her love for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in the past. In a 2010 interview with The Advocate she stated, “When it comes to gay marriage, I just believe in love. I believe that when two people find each other and love each other, they should be able to spend their lives together.”
“The Fosters” debuts on ABC Family on June 6.
Jennifer Lopez’s Lesbian Family Drama, ‘The Fosters’ Trailer
by Aniek on Apr 21st, 2013 • Categories: News & Updates, The Fosters • Comments: 0
One Million Moms tried to kill it before it even aired, but it looks like ABC Family’s new drama The Fosters is a go: The network has just launched a new promo for the Jennifer Lopez-produced series, which debuts June 3.
Following in the footsteps of Modern Family and The New Normal, The Fosters follows the lives of a same-sex family: Vice-principal Lena (Sherri Saum), her police-officer wife Stef (Meet the Parents’ Teri Polo) and their three children. Also in the mix: Stef’s ex-husband and current partner, Joe (Danny Nucci).
The show’s press site gives a little more detail:
The Fosters is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Stef Foster (Teri Polo), a dedicated police officer, and her partner Lena Adams (Sherri Saum), a school Vice Principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef’s biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon (David Lambert), and their adopted twins, Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) and Jesus (Jake T. Austin).
Their lives are disrupted in unexpected ways when Lena meets Callie (Maia Mitchell), a hardened teen with an abusive past who has spent her life in and out of foster homes. Lena and Stef warily welcome Callie into their home thinking it’s just for a few weeks, until a more permanent placement can be found.

Jennifer Lopez Talks Ben Affleck’s Globe Win On “Ellen”
by Aniek on Jan 17th, 2013 • Categories: News & Updates, Parker • Comments: 0
She’s had a few famous beaus over the years, and Jennifer Lopez insists that there’s no awkwardness when she runs into them.
For example, when J. Lo saw Sean “Diddy” Combs and Ben Affleck at the Golden Globe Awards over the weekend, everything was all good.
During her interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Lopez explained, “We run in the same circles, [so it’s not a big deal].”
Of Affleck’s Best Director win for “Argo,” the “On The Floor” songstress gushed, “It was a great movie. And, we [her and Affleck] got you know, a lot of…They were really hard on us in the press when we dated back in the day, on movies and things like that. So, it was a nice moment. It was a nice to see him have that moment. I was really happy for him.”

by Aniek on Jan 10th, 2013 • Categories: New layout, Parker, Website • Comments: 0
You probably noticed, there is a new layout here at Jennifer Lopez Fan! The first layout was beautiful, but it was time for something new, since the first one was up since may 2012! This version was made by Amanda at Battle Hymn Designs. You can find the previous style over at the Past Layouts section!
Also, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the crime thriller, a new featurette was released for “Parker” on Wednesday (January 9).
Starring Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez, the movie follows a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: “Don’t steal from people who can’t afford it and don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it.” But on his latest heist, he is double-crossed by his crew and left for dead.
Speaking about his character and his supposed moral code, the 45-year-old action star explains, “His whole business is being corrupt and he’s just taking his piece of the pie.”
The Taylor Hackford-directed flick hits theaters later this month on January 25th, but you can watch Jason and J-Lo in action below.

Jennifer Lopez’s new TV show targeted by One Million Moms
by Aniek on Oct 11th, 2012 • Categories: News & Updates, The Fosters • Comments: 0
Share on FacebookJennifer Lopez’s latest TV venture has been targeted by conservative campaigners over its focus on a lesbian couple raising children.
Lopez is an executive producer of new small screen series “The Fosters” with her Nuyorican Productions company, and the show stars Teri Polo of “The West Wing” and Sherri Saum of “Rescue Me.” However, its focus on same-sex parents raising kids together has angered activists at One Million Moms, who have urged members to complain to the network behind the show, ABC’s Family Channel.
The post reads, “ABC Family has approved a series pilot from Jennifer Lopez’s production company, Nuyorican, about a lesbian couple and their diverse family… Because of family being part of the network’s name, we thought a warning should still be sent out for anyone who continues to watch the channel. A premiere date has not been set, but One Million Moms wanted to sound the alarm about this new series. It will be airing on the network soon unless we do something about it…
“While foster care and adoption is a wonderful thing … this program is attempting to redefine marriage and family by having two moms raise these children together. … None of this material is acceptable content for a family show. … Let’s stop this dead in it its tracks.”
